10.31.2018 You gotta take it with you when you're going forward *
Hey Now! Happy Halloween y'all! I awaken at 4:20. Fitting. It's quite nice in the room. The door quit screaming at me. It's 52º. Chilly.
skeletons rustle in the distance.
Las Vegas coffee.
Even if there is this fancy Keough coffee machine in the room, I prefer a caffeineated soda. I took the Silver Bullet for a spin.
The construction is ongoing at the Palms. I am really bummed about the neon sign removal there. I like the old Vegas style.
There's still a bunch of really interesting architecture around, you just have to go out and find it. 21st century neon-ish, I suppose. Back at the ranch it's YAH day. That means 11x points. I do plan on trying on 1k tears to keep on track. It's gonna be a bit tough. I have the Phish Halloween Show tonight at the MGM Grand. The show starts around 7:30, but I need to get there early. Got business there.
Let's slowly shed tears
Low rollin' my way.
At 1.25 per hand, it looks like I'm gonna be a while. This machine is being pretty cooperative. While I play I see this dude.
Howdy partner
Then I had what's got to be the best come on line ever by a street walker. "Interested in a morning massage?" No thanks. I take a break and hit a kiosk. They have certainly changed things up with Young at Heart. First you get to pick a color for a drawing.
Always go green
Next you get to select from several choices of gifts. So my choice was the only one not spelled out exactly.
spooky
Play along at home- it is Halloween y'all! My print out for the gift said to present it at the BConned desk. So that's what I did, much to the consternation of the boothling. He wasn't really sure what to give me. So he is looking around behind the counter for stuff. I tell him flat out I don't need a leash or a key fob. "T shirt?" But not red. "Purple?" Sure. "How many?" Load me up.
T shirts #2-#4
All new BConned It's meant to BS
Tourney time. The last session is just about to begin. One thing I enjoy about these things is that you get to see pretty much the same people. I think there's like 210 people. Everyone else is sporting their official swag from their respective home casinos.
nice shade of green...
I'm incognito
105k. Out of the duckies.
The little awards show is sometime this afternoon. There's a door prize drawing, and then the winning casino team is in some kind of contest. I don't plan on being there. But I still need to do some serious gamboling between now and then. Let's start with some B7's.
Jim???
I still waiting
Profitable!!
I tried some W4, Hoot Loot, and a couple of others. Not pretty. While I'm still ahead I have a hankering for some VP.
DBDW parley
DDB goodness
Well this afternoon is going swimmingly. It's time to deposit my virtual tickets for the virtual YAH drawing a bit later.
528 virtual chances to win.
These are all the rage y'all!
One thing I have learned from watching the various YouTube slot entrepreneurs is always play the largest denomination possible. At least the largest you feel comfortable with. In my case it was .10. Then I could change up from to 2.50 to 5.00 bet. It worked rather well.
yippee
Now I have some bullets to aim at my next target. My favorite machine in the French Quarter. I present the Wally Gator shorty.
memories.....
This machine and I have a history. I got my first dollar royal here. Along with 3 half dollar ones. Interestingly enough, never had one in quarters. But oh- the adventures! Hank Bonefish, Daniel, Nancy, and sometimes Jay held court here most days. Sweet Ti and I have met some wonderful people here too. And a bunch of the local barflys. There was a new bartender this time and it was too smoky. Next!
right on time....
I stopped by to see today's local,Linda and finally slip her a bill. I ask her to make reservations for Friday at the Prime Rib Loft. Table for 3. She generously includes a large comp that we will never possibly spend. Good ol' Linda. Over to Higher Limit for something differest. There's a new 7 Up machine 1. denom, 5. max bet. Insert hundy coin, 20 spins- and I'm outta there. Let's try The Green Machine.
one spin win.
Cashed out that puppy out. I ease my way over toward the sportsbook. The virtual drawing is virtually ready to be drawn. Virtually. Instead of one 5 hundy winner and a shitload of hundy winners, there are now five 5 hundy winners. It takes much less time. Which is a really good idea for them at least. The crowd used to block the walkway in front of the sportsbook for 15 minutes. Security used to have to shoosh people out of the way. It's a moot point anyway. There were maybe a third as many people as there have been for at least the past 8 years or so. Why the hell would you drive off your Silvery Locals??? By the way, I didn't win. But between Sweet Ti and me, we have won the old hundy drawing 5 times. So I can't complain. I check the tourney results- came in 76th place. They had the extra team event going on but I didn't bother because if you won any slot play they just added it to your card. It's been a slightly profitable day so far, but I need to go get ready for the show. Sweet Ti and I have our evening chat and I put on my Halloween/Mardi Gras outfit.
Those beads came from the Gulf Coast Carnival Association's Mardi Gras parade in Biloxi. I put fairy lights in the beads.
I made my way to the designated Rider Share area and dialed up a Lyfty. She arrived presently and we were off to the MGM Grand valet area. She was of Polish/Israeli heritage. She used to drive cabs in Tel Aviv. I have to admit I kinda like being in a situation where I get to meet different types of people. This just becomes yet another opportunity in Vegas. She drives like a bat out of hell and we are there like now. It's actually cheaper too. I tip her cash. Inside this humongous cavern of a building I get my bearings. Sort of. I did look at a map earlier and have an inkling of where I'm headed. Into the mass of humanity once again. There's no doubt that it's Halloween. More than the usual bunch of Striplings.
I am in need of the MLifer Club to redeem the last MyVegoose 25. free play thingy. I drifted along with the crowd and stumbled upon one. Only took a minute. I found a new to me old Top Dollar. I inserted seed money and got to work. Jim?
nope
I wonder how many different kinds there are?
I ended up donating the seed. I'm seeing more Phish Phans about. I should just follow the vape smoke. I had seen on social media earlier that they were not opening the Garden till 6:30. The show is at 7:30. I found the entrance and went in search of hydration.
King Crown wrong holiday Odd Squad
I settled for an overpriced bottle of still water. At this point it's past 6:30. Time to get in the massive queue. And promptly get sardined. It seemed like the back of the queue was just slowly moving forward but the front of the queue wasn't. Great smelling crowd though.
"You're the next contestant!"
beards
They finally started actually taking tickets and it wasn't pretty. Too many people and too few open turnstiles. Or rather TSA scanners. This place is certainly not the Park Theater. I was handed a Phishbill program for the evening.
That should make for some interesting reading. Phish always covers an album for the second set on Halloween. I found my rafter seat.
Well this might take a bit. As ya'll can see, the place wasn't half full yet. It's a sold out show. I read the Phishbill while I wait. The nught's costume is covering í rokk by a Scandinavian outfit called Kasvot Växt. Sure. Sounds fishy to me. Or maybe Phishy. I met my neighbors.
Shelly & Mike
The show finally got underway about 8:30 and it was great. The band was ready to go on this the first night of a 4 night gig. After the first set I did a walkabout enjoying the random crazyness going on. During the break there was a curtain that enveloped the stage. Then-
í rokk
So it turned out to be 8 songs of new music by Phish. It was interesting. At this point, it was after midnight. So I split. On the way out I noticed they were 2 photographers taking shots of costumed attendees. So I took pics of them taking pics.
stay cheesy Vegas....
Some how or another I found my way to the Rider Share pickup location, which is in a different place than the drop off. You actually go thru some dark corridors and out into an alley first. Not really safe in the early a.m. but anyway. Felipe from Cali provided the enroute commentary. This time it's the family minivan. Jet speed too. Back at the ranch I see by my notes that I tried MS/STP, WoF 5., B7's, and Dancing Drums. Oh, and Loose Deuces. Pretty much gave back all I had gained earlier. Better than BR duckies. I got my tears though.
onward!
The end of another busy day in Vegas. I heard some great live music, and met some tricky characters. 5 more days of this are yet to come y'all. The BR is still hovering around 80% so it looks to make it through the journey. As long as I hold out!
Totals: RB- 87.200 bconned points 1111 tear points
