AC Maintaining 25
12.11.2025 It's beginning
Hey Now! Welcome back my friend to the show that never ends. And the weather here in VA has been feeling frosty- we had measurable amounts of snow already. Geez it hasn't done that since 2 winters ago. The solstice is still days away. Good thing I decorated the day after Halloween.
Seasons Greetings!!
Solo expedition this time. Sweet Ti is headed to Raleigh to spend the holidaze with Heather and our Miss Iris on the 20th and I'm staying home with the felines. So it's solo. The weather finally cleared up and I was off very early on a chilly Thursday morning for 3 nights of churning points to maintain some semblance of status at Resorts. Since we have been cruising we have kinda been negligent in attending such things. I had to remind our host Stephanie to bump up my card level back to Paramount Plus as it had slipped all the way down to lowly Epic. We have our 25th/50th anniversary cruise coming up shortly in January too. Hopefully I can keep the ol' BR mostly intact.
Festive ferry terminal
The ferry was rockin' and rollin' it's way across the Delaware. I ate my Rofo chicken and napped. Into AC in no time and my room was ready at 11 a.m. thanks to our Maggie. Even though she was off she put in a word for me. Maybe not the best view, but clean.
Insert coin
Set up please Jim!!!
Tricky first day. Having the 10x tier points helped the card level as if that matters. Crashed early.
12.12.2025 To look
Hey Now! And we're back. 6 a.m. SSS. One of the offers they've been kind enough to front me this month is my choice of 8x comps OR 8x cashback for 1 gaming day during the month. I decide to activate the 8x comps as my comp dollar balance is $146. Need to work on that. I've got a plan. Between the food court and the self park elevators is a non smoking area with several VP machines. Including the only full pay BP in .25 and .50 denominations. Since I was here last in September they have removed several of the various machines. All the uprights are gone along with 2 out of 3 of the .25 progressive DDB machines. Only 3 Joker Poker .50 progressives and 1. progressives. And 3 of the .25 8/5 JoB progressives. These are where I plan on spending all my time on today.
The progressive for a royal flush is over 1600. I doubt if that makes it an advantage play, but adding in the 8x comps is going to make it damn close. So I loaded up the 8x multiplier and brought plenty of bullets and insert coin.
wrong game delta!
Breakfast in America
I ended up playing 2 hours and 15 minutes on that first hundy. Must be some kind of record. The rest of the day didn't quite live up to those standards, but it was manageable. As a matter of fact- it was just like old times! I would have rather been playing 8/5 BP but I have absolutely o problem with cranking out a few hundred hands per hour. Plus this place is a ghost town. It's the Friday before Christmas, I get that people are busy doing other things. Probably gambling next door at the Hard Rock for instance. But that makes the place even nicer. No germ sharing or stray cancer stick stench wafting around. A couple of old friends even stop by. Today's local, Barbara the slot attendant has been working here since Mervyn was around. 1988 or so. We had a nice chat and she of course asked after our Sweet Ti. Barbara went to part time a couple of years ago but just can't bring herself to retire. I concur.
Our Yolin
Pronounced Joleen. She's like our other granddaughter. I always get an earful from her for leaving Ti at home. I promise her that we will be back for our usual Valentine's Day trip. She is such a dear. She always wants to over serve me.
Soon enough the time had reached High Noon.
After that quad I just stopped taking pictures of them. I took a break for some lunch at the club and went straight back to work. By my bookkeeping I hit 21 quads. 3 were deltas. Then around 6 p.m. I am joined by another player. She calls over a slot attendant and asked them to lock out one of these 3 progressive machines to reserve it for her brother. He must be a high roller here because in short order it's reserved. She takes the other one. We chatted as we played. After a bit her brother stopped by but never sat down. She finally gave up on him and had the machine unlocked. She sat down and started playing on that machine. She hit it. $1672. Just like that. Oh well, I was about done chasing that darn thing anyway. Good for her.
Not bad considering the appalling rate of earning points here on VP. And the comp total is coming around. Speaking of comps, I've got a food comp that needs my attention. Room service fits the bill. Hint: always double check with room service to make sure that they are using the dining comp for the charges. Otherwise they will just charge the room. Then you are on the hook for the charges.
zzzzzzzzzzzzz.......
12.13.2025 A lot
Hey Now! Mona is doing her thing next door. I almost started banging on the wall, but it is the holidays. Besides, I am outta here. Today is 10x comp multiplier that I plan on taking advantage of. Right now there are some VP machines calling my name.
looked good- didn't pan out.......
The ol' joint is looking festive!
Blaze on
Well this particular Quick Hit looks intriguing. I likes me some Quick Hit 3 reels and this one has a max bet of 2.00.
Roll reel #1 please Jimmy!!
Roll reel #2 please Sir James!
Sometimes you sit down and just know. Kinda takes a bit of the sting out of being robbed of that 1.6k Royal.
Makin' it rain on Stretch
I'd say the day is going rather well.
Pizza break
Why do I get the feeling that one of these days I will walk in these dinosaurs will be history.
Well that was sure fun. Break time to pack and get ready for the evenings festivities such as they are. First stop is Breadsticks to use up yet another food comp. I ease on down the road there and am greeted by the hostess. It's about 6 p.m. and there's only 1 other party in the entire restaurant. Incredible.
Fa la la to da la
I somehow managed to fit the bulk of my dinner in the fridge in my room along with the pizza and Rofo. Tonight's event is some kind of gift giveaway featuring cookies and a hot chocolate bar. I gave it a bit in order to let the grifters settle down. So I thought.
So this is where all of the people have been this whole trip. Waiting in this frilling line for hours. I finally got in and an attendant asked after my Host. "Stephanie, but she is on Vacay." Head on over to Tom. "Lovely." There's a line of Player Development personnel on one side of the room. They each have a small high top table with a fish bowl on it. The fish bowls have envelopes in them. Here's mine.
That's too funny. We are going on an Alaska cruise in May and were just talking about upgrading our luggage. This is actually a 2 piece set which includes a checked size and a carry on. This set pretty much fits the bill. Meanwhile, I get in line for the cookie and hot chocolate bar. I brought a sandwich baggie that I very stealthily fill with cookies. Everyone in line is entertained by one of the prizes offered- one of those cash booths where they stick you inside and blow around cash. Grab what you can! I stash the luggage in Foxy.
Quick Spin me J>J>
Well, this has actually been a profitable day for a change. And I'm not about to give it all back. So I'll call it a trip. You know I like to end my trip gamboling with a Quad, so here's a recap of earlier this evening...
Tier points 752 Comp dollars: +250.
Cashback: 105.
12.14.2025 Like Christmas*
Hey Now! Interesting developments in the local meteorology. A fast moving storm is headed this way from Western PA. It should be out to sea by mid morning. But that isn't particularly helpful as I am booked on the 9:45 ferry.
So this is what I woke up to. So far it looks pretty sweet. The snow is melting as soon as is hits the ground. Now's my chance.
So the closer to the expressway I get, the worse the snow gets. And it's pretty much coming down sideways. The speed limit is 35 and everyone is actually doing it. Then I hit the Parkway and all bets are off. Barely able to go 35. But there's no traffic and I left early.
Lordy!
finally!!
all aboard!!
zzzzzzzzzz..
The snow turned to rain while I slept. The christmas lights a twinkling as I drive past, I head down the Eastern Shore and back home to my awaiting Sweet Ti. Well, once again thanks for playing along. See y'all around the neighborhood!
