AC April 5-8 2011   

Hey Now!

Emergency Back-Up Trip, this really will end up as the last trip till October.  I was going to go up on Wed.- but there wasn't any work at the old job, so I started my Permanent Vacation a day early and scored a comp at Showboat.

 On the road headed up the Eartern Shore towards the ferry... I decide to check out the new Ocean Downs Casino  

  nice and clean, I have my doubts about the payouts tho... Haven't seem any stats for MD properties yet, this place has a couple of these..   the only VP machines are at the bar, really bad odds too... So I checked out the track...

  they didn't race there last year, but have dates posted for this summer. Back on the road again, past all the usual suspects  the Leaning Sign and the 2nd Time Designs    

past the Bridge to Nowhere      and on to Lewes      I hang out at the terminal awaiting the boat..

nappy-time on the Ferry, and wake up in Joisey...      

    and in no time I'm checking out the Orleans Tower room. 

Time to ease on over to Resorts and grab a bite at Breadsticks at Resorts and grab the free umbrella from the player's club. Thanks Dennis!!

Bonus Poker anyone??      Back to Showboat for the only Full Pay machines they have left. I feel an oblogation to put a single twenty in since they did give me a room and all I did before was put a single twenty in one back in Jan. There are some perks to a down economy... Damn CET Evil Empire    

Up with the sun over the Atlantic once again....        time to check out the progress on the Revel  and the boardwalk rebuilding  

     time to do a bit of gaming and check on my room at Resorts, so I check out of Showboat and stash my stuff in Yarma the Yaris and take the inside route over two properties.. I make a stop at the Taj for a bit little bit  of Cue da Dog    and have a small score..

I'm a bit early for a room, so I make some comps to pass the time           still no room ready, so I stroll around the boardwalk for a bit

   they are enjoying a bit of sun on an April morn...

some idiots were actually out there surfing  

I finally score a room, but it's in the Ocean Tower down a long hallway away from the beach.. the room is big, but the view sucks, and the bathroom is about the size of a cruise ship steerage room. I can't even find the safe. I ask a maid and she just chuckles at me in Spanglish and shakes her head....

So I go all the way back to the front desk and am informed there is a safe at the front desk I can use. None in any of the Ocean Tower rooms. I have stayed in the Rendezvous Tower 3 times in the last 4 months, but she sez they are a $20 upgrade after April 1st, but they are sold out anyway... I check out and head for the Borg- I was double booked anyhow!!  

I place an order to go order at White House Subs and head on over, but they're doing road work and there never much parking anyway, so I duck into the public parking and hurry over and grab my Italian quickly as I have 15 minutes of free parking before I have to pay $7.00 to park...

On to the Borg with my 5 lb. sandwich and I grab a room on the 33rd floor and settle down with Stretch for a truly classic AC lunch...

  the thing to keep in mind here is that Stretch is 8 inches long, so that makes this a 16 inch sub..

3 to 4 meals here folks... don't try this at home in one sitting.

I have some free play to use up, so I go to my lucky $1 Bonus Poker machine and it still works  

   looks like the Face card Frat Brother Federation Foursomes are Facing off....  I stroll over to the Multi-Strike Mischief Machines and immediately give it all back.  So it's time for opening night at Evangeline Downs, so I go to the racebook- but they aren't simulcasting EVD  so I grab my laptop and sit in the Living Room and play the ponies and watch the peoples go by. Time to call it a night as the locals are getting restless....

Up with the sun.... down to the gym to work off the sub and have a soak. Gotta get out of the way of the kids by 8:00, they are usually lined up for the pool by then. Enjoyed another killer sunrise.

back upstairs to do my 3 S's     

 and split for the free parking at the Plaza.   I score my scratch off ticket (loser!) and my free Starbucks cookie (winner!) and head out the door  to take some pics

first to Bally's

and on down to to the Granite Monster     

and the walkway from hell     I actually saw a Boardling disappear in there just before I snapped this.

On southward, no I didn't stop here...      past the frolicking couple,    and up the excalator past the Hooters  

to the Trop

  and on down to the Hilton    

I wanted to grab these shots while it's still the Hilton. I saw maybe 50 people in the whole casino on a Thursday morning at 11 a.m.

Back on the Boardwalk    down to the Knife and Fork for lunch, but they were closed..

time for a cold near-beer so I stop in to see Nancy ( 2 hot air balloons in a Piper Cub)    and chat for awhile. Back to business, I go to Zephyr's  and get Sweet Ti a birthday gift, and to James' for the birthday dessert. Back to the Presidential Candidate's place

to get Yarma, and head back to the Borg  for an afternoon of VP 

     what a Ham I am...

   the VP Gods are angry at me tho, so I play the ponies for a bit and crash early.

Last day always comes too soon, so I forgo the workout for one last session at the machines 

     and call it a trip, hit the ferry and head back home to my Sweet Ti.

Time to start a new job and save up for our next trip in the Fall.
